June 30th is Social Media Day. This day was launched in 2010 by Mashable, as a way to recognize and celebrate social media's impact on global communication.

Since the early days of social networks like Myspace, social media has changed the way we communicate, thanks to its availability and immediacy.

Today it seems to be everywhere, impacting not only personal relationships but in all types of communications: from athletes or celebrities who make announcements or converse with their audience directly, to politicians who use social networks like Twitter as a way to express regularly, social media is part of our life. Even businesses have recognized the value of social media for connecting with customers directly or through the so-called Influencers. Brands use social networks to promote and sell their products or as quickly updating users about problems affecting their service.
