SobiPro search in multiple categories

We've Joomla 2.5.8, with SobiPro 1.0 and SobiPro Search Plugin+ (Plus) 4.0.0. We've a directory with only one section and two level categories. Something like this:

- Restaurant
-- Italian
-- Tapas
-- Indo
- Drinks
-- Brewery
-- Pub
-- Disco
.
.
.

Then, in extended search, we can filter by first level category, then second, and last by City. The problem is when we have an entry mapped to two categories. Search only finds entries which first assigned category is the one selected.

So, in the example, if we want an entry to be found by pub and disco, it's not possible. Only one of them, the first assigned.

Is this by design or are we missing something?

Thank you in advance for your support.

Saludos. ;)

It's an User Interface restriction.

You can select more than one category in the Chained Select.

Sorry, I think I've not explained well.

We have two level categories and a field called City.

In above categories example, let's suppose we have an entry called "Restaurant Italoindo", whose selected categories in SobiPro are:

Directory >> Restaurant >> Italian
Directory >> Restuarant >> Indo

We have another entry: "Restaurant Pavarotti", with only one category:

Directory >> Restaurant >> Italian

And another one: "Restaurant Himalaya", with this only category:

Directory >> Restaurant >> Indo

All three entries have "Valencia" as City field.

Then, we search with this parameters (Category, subcategory, City): [Restaurant] [Italian] [Valencia], and result is "Restaurant Italoindo" and "Restaurant Pavarotti". That's OK.

If we search with parameters [Restaurant] [Indo] [Valencia], we obtain: "Restaurant Himalaya", but not "Restaurant Italoindo".

This is why we think only first assigned category is being used for filtering. Are we doing something wrong?

Thank you very much! You give me the hint I needed! :woohoo:

In CategoriesRestrictionApp Settings for the only section, Restriction Mode was "Direct category only". In the very same moment I changed it to setting to "All assigned categories" everything started to work as expected.

Thank you again for your superb support.
