Autotweet sends FIRST saved version of articles

Hi Guys!

I have a problem because I am sending out garbled messages (nonsense text).

When a new article is submitted to the website, it is first pasted into a template that has fragments and blanks. The heading or subheadings in the article may not be finalized at the time the article is saved for the first time!

It may take hours and hours and many saves before the top lines in the article are finally set.

But Autotweet takes the first version that is saved and sends that out. Here is an example from Tuesday night: "from The Collected Works--In SeundPart 1– Thession-- Eric Voegelin visited etc etc"
--These opening lines make almost no sense.

The thing is, anyone editing online (in JCE, for instance) is going to save regularly so that work is not lost when something bad happens (And something bad happens often enough!)

I looked at a lot of documentation to find the answer, but either I missed it or it isn't there.

Two questions:

1. Can I edit the Autotweet message before it goes out to make sure it reflects the final product? I don't see where this can be done.

2. Is there a DB file I can edit if nothing is editable in the Admin backend? I would rather not, of course. :)

I don't want to turn off the Autopost plugin. I would forget to manually post and I don't have time to compose a manual post for each article.

This is a fine program that I haven't quite mastered yet!

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi Fritz,

The problem is "How can AutoTweet be sure that the article is finished"?

I think the articles should be Unpublished, until the edition is completed. And, you have to enable the Posting filter/Post modified.

This sounds like a simple and practical solution.

But it is over my head right now and I need some help.

Unpublished articles do not show up in the Requests log at this time.

How to I proceed after I have saved the final version of the unpublished article?

Do I need to do something in the plugin AutoTweetContent?
I have not included "unpublished" there under Posting=> Categories.

Could you walk me through the steps?

Much thanks!

Hi Fritz,

You only have to enable in the System - AutotweetContent plugin, "Posting filter" / "Post modified".

And, mark as published the articles when they are ready.

That's easy! I can do that!

One more question then: If the day after an article is posted I find a typographical error, and I fix it and save the article, will there be an immediate automatic retweet? I would want to avoid a retweet for a spelling correction. :)

Best,

Fritz Wagner

You have to delete the new Request. Right now there's no way to avoid this automatic posting when there's a minor correction.
