Adaptive Images does not handle the poster attribute of the video tag correctly

Set up a video tag similar to <video poster=image.jpg...

When the page is displayed the tag has been changed to <video poster=http://sitedomain/image.jpg...

Note that the protocol is set to http even if the site is using https.

The tag should either be unchanged or, if the site is https, it could be <video poster=https://sitedomain/image.jpg...

Either of these options would be acceptable. The current output is wrong.

Hi, Thanks for reaching out!

The plugin is designed to process only images tags. Please, disable the plugin and confirm if the issue persists (and it can't be associated with the plugin).

If I disable the plugin the issue goes away - I get <video poster=image.jpg...

I am therefore confident that the plugin is causing the issue.

Hi,

We have investigated the case, and you are right. The plugin also supports the poster attribute. It is an edge case, but yes it is supported.

Sorry for the confusion. I wasn't even aware of the feature.

About the HTTPS support, please take into account that XT Adaptive Images PRO has full SSL support: www.extly.com/utilities/xt-adaptive-images.html

If you are implementing the free version on an SSL-enabled site, then we recommend the PRO version for your project.

Best Regards,

Thanks for the update.

I'm not particularly worried about this. I have another plugin that fixes the issue - a development version of JCH Optimize which replaces the poster url with one pointing to our CDN. However, it could help other users if your plugin left the poster url unchanged.
