# XT Massive Image Optimizer

This chapter covers the use of the XT Massive Image Optimizer (opens new window).

XT Massive Image Optimizer is a comprehensive image optimization package, available as a command-line to process large batches of images. It is designed to be executed in a server terminal or iteratively by the Cron Job.

The primary objective is reducing the file size and improving the characteristics of the images, applying an uniform set of optimization tools.

Given a set of random images, produced manually by authors at different times and skills, XT Massive Image Optimizer helps to define a baseline of quality and features.
