Annoucement: New Releases Ready for Joomla 5

We are happy to announce that our extensions are now available for Joomla 4.4 and Joomla 5, providing you with even more options and flexibility.

Our primary objective is to ensure a seamless and hassle-free upgrade to Joomla 5. Therefore, our extensions are designed to work seamlessly on both Joomla 4 and Joomla 5, simplifying the transition between these versions.

To ensure backward compatibility between Joomla 5 and Joomla 4, our Joomla extensions work in conjunction with the Backward Compatibility Plugin. This plugin is automatically activated when upgrading from Joomla 4 to Joomla 5 or on new installations. If you plan to install our extensions on Joomla 5, please enable the compatibility plugin.

Updating any of our extensions is as simple as installing the new version over the existing installation. The extension will take care of the configuration process, making it hassle-free.

These are the extensions ready for Joomla 5:

We offer a 20% discount on all our extensions compatible with Joomla 5 and Extly Club to celebrate this milestone. Use the coupon code EXTLYJ5 during checkout. This special offer is valid until November 3.

Upgrading to Joomla 5

Moving from Joomla 4 to Joomla 5 involves an upgrade process that requires careful consideration, particularly concerning the minimum technical requirements. Before upgrading to Joomla 5, ensuring that your hosting environment meets these requirements is essential.

As with any upgrade or migration, it is crucial to:

  • Backup your website to safeguard your data,
  • Test the upgrade on a copy of your website to identify any potential issues
  • Review all installed extensions and templates. If any extension or template is incompatible with Joomla 5 and has no available update, it is advisable to remove or deactivate it before proceeding with the upgrade to J5.

For detailed instructions and further information, please refer to the complete guide available at the Joomla Documentation.

Continued Support for Joomla 3

While Joomla 3 officially reached its end-of-life in August 2023, we are extending our support for Joomla 3 until at least the end of 2024. We will review our decision to support Joomla 3 alongside Joomla 4 and 5 during the year, considering the associated challenges.

We have significantly improved all our extensions to ensure their compatibility with Joomla 5. However, minor issues may still arise, as with Joomla itself. We encourage you to report any issues you encounter through our Support System so that we can address them promptly.
